I love Japanese culture and love Osaka but not really a fan of the seafood district and the raping of our oceans by our world, that's just me but still love the country!

Can anyone point me in the right direction of that business card (Meishi) printer shop? I’m literally in the Nishinari Ward at this very moment, having walked around for 30 minutes looking for this place. I also asked two very nice ladies at the Nishinari Ward office building desk to help me out, with no success. All google searches in English and Japanese yielded no results either. Thanks in advance! Really hoping to buy these for a gift for myself and someone else as well.

If you guys could actually link Google Maps locations for all the places you visit in a vid, that would make it SO much more useful for travellers!

Beautifully edited and scripted! This was very well put together and really highlights everything that the beautiful city of Osaka has to offer. I visited a few places in Japan on my last trip and I have to say I really did enjoy Osaka. It was a more laid back version of Tokyo with the perfect dosage of hustle and bustle. Loved it so much will be going back in the fall LOL. It's safe to say Osaka stole my heart!

14:45 funny how the man shows zero interest in the story until the sharing of sake was mentioned. Love it :D

It seemed a little weird that half the footage of the game cafe kinda place were people playing shougi and the narrator didn't even mention the name. Also I'm really curious how you got permission to film the people in the sentou.

I didn't like Osaka at all when I was there. People are very friendly that's true! Nighlife is awesome there but I felt very strange when walking troght the city. I loved Tokyo. You can cleary see and feel the difference between these two cities.

I've been to Tokyo and Kyoto, but now I have to go to Osaka!!
Andrew Ding (1 year ago)
Only thing I didn't like about Osaka was at one restaurant my friends and I ordered food and they NEVER gave it to us. They just smiled every time we asked where are food was and said " ok ok I check". Maybe it was because we were foreigners, but other japanese customers who came after us all got their food, ate it and LEFT!! and we still didn't get our food. So after 30minutes we just got up and left. We are very polite travelers so this was very strange. I understand it tho, not all of ANY country is tourist friendly and this was an exception.
HoloHoax (1 year ago)
It's a totally xenophobic country that does not like foreigners. I'm not talking about racism of like blacks etc... I mean they don't want to be around any white Americans and so on.. To me this doc is a lie. They are trying to romanticize a country which despises any non-Japs. It is virtually impossible to work in Japan as a non-Jap.. and you are seen as a 2nd class citizen. You can never become Japanese. It's not like America where you go there and become American. You will NEVER become Japanese. They accept you as tourists because you leave money.. but other than that they want little to do with you.

Awesome video! I first traveled to Japan two years ago and Osaka was where I landed, I absolutely loved the city. I visited again last year and decided to make a move there next year. Watching this video opened the city more to me now and I really can't wait :)

"The night life goes on longer" Can confirm. Found myself getting last call in Tokyo around 12:30am in Shinjuku. So me and my buddy decided to hit hit up Shibuya only to find ourselves hit with "Japanese Only" treatment. We ended up walking back to Shinjuku with pockets full of money and way to sober.

I visited Japan in 2015 and I completely agree, Osaka just has a friendlier feel over Tokyo.

Why did you put on Euro/US Rock as a soundtrack? I mean, if Japanese people would turn on their contemporary music on for a documentary it would seem kind of strange as well, wouldn't it?

I've been traveling Japan as well, staying in Toyko and Osaka. What this dude sais at 16:56 is absolutely true. In Toyko don't show any emotions compared to the people in Osaka. Truly heartwarming to stay there. Way less tourists than in Kyoto, cheaper and better food and the people are so friendly.

What does "Japan’s second city" in the description mean ?
Windelesk (1 year ago)
It is a common nickname for Osaka. Tokyo is often the first, followed by Osaka as a major metropolitan area. This is just like how Chicago is the second in the U.S. compared to New York.

it is sad in japan that tattoos are not socially accepted not only in public baths but also public pools are not allowed either and certain tattoos on certain body parts would sometimes get you in troubles
Frank West (1 year ago)
see the thing is i myself is an asian born and bred in japan and love there so much its just unfortunate that japan is close minded when it comes to tattoos like everytime i go to onsen or sento i have to cover it up with a towel and havent got kicked out yet but maybe one day i will lol
Tony (1 year ago)
its understandable though. the yakusa groups all have full body tattoos. but they should realize that foreigners are probably not in the yakusa. so they should at least let foreigners with tats in. but still nothing you can really do. just respect their way and find a place you can go.

I lived in Kobe for 5 years, but went to Osaka everyday for work. I didnt realize how special it was until I moved to Tokyo last year. I miss how friendly and interesting the people were in Kobe and Osaka. Tokyo just isnt the same.
111danish111 (1 year ago)
I just checked its a 43 minute train ride . That is a ride from the 6 largest to the 3rd largest town in the country in terms of population !! The country is smaller than California in terms of area !!
Windelesk (1 year ago)
Same way I feel about people elsewhere in France compared to Parisians.
JamminSamurai Is Tokyo that bad compared to other Japanese cities? I always thought that city was overcrowded like New York. Tokyo always reminded me of the cities of the movie The Matrix.
